Bret Calhoun Reaches 600th All-Time Lone Star Park Win

(Grand Prairie, Texas - Friday, May 24, 2013) - Two-year-old filly, Fiftyshadesofgold drew off under a hand ride to win by an impressive 10 lengths in her debut race tonight, giving her trainer W. Bret Calhoun, his 600th all-time win at Lone Star Park on Thursday night.

"It's nice to win that many races at the track where my career got started," said Calhoun.

Calhoun was winless at Lone Star Park during its 1997 inaugural season. He has since been in the top 10 of the trainer standings for 13 of 17 seasons. He was leading trainer of the 2010 and 2011 Spring Thoroughbred seasons and was just one win shy of sharing the title in 2012 with trainer, Danny Pish who edged Bret 42 to 41 wins. He has amassed earnings to date of over $11.8 million, at the Grand Prairie track. Congratulations Bret!
